    “Remind me again why you’re here?” It takes effort for Cordelia to put the usual edge in her words. It’s a mix of painkillers and exhaustion and, that’s right, betrayal that are making her head this cloudy, she’s sure. It sucks, in short.

    It sucks more because for some reason Faith Whatever-Her-Last-Name-Is is at Cordelia’s bedside, twirling a stake in one hand and twirling her hair in the other.

    “Well, from how B’s described it, vamps in the know tend to target her friends. With you all…prone and painkiller-ed up, you’re primo Buffy-bait. So we’re taking it in shifts.”
