Gaius did not open the door, nor did Merlin. Instead, standing in its place with the door half open was a stranger. With one hand, he held the door in place, while his body, half-leaning against the frame, blocked the view inside the room. There were no sounds from inside the room, so even though he couldn't see, he could assume the stranger was alone.
The stranger who happened to be very shirtless.
Leon wasn't someone who was easy to shock to the point of being speechless, but the sight of the man in front of him was enough to do it. He tried to look away but couldn't stop looking at the man's chest. Heat crawled up his neck, he felt embarrassed to be so obviously affected by something so common, as if he were some dumb naive boy. The uniqueness of the situation was the worst, because he had never lost his cool so effortlessly like this before.
// or a merlin rewrite starting from season 3 and following through s4 & s5. Leon & Gwaine centric. Even if leowaine is the main pair, more kind of bonds and relationships will be explored.

Summary
Arthur wasn’t even sure the rumors they were chasing were worth the time it had taken to listen to them, let alone to trek a day’s hard ride from Camelot to investigate. Supposedly, the crumbled ruins they were exploring were Goddess-touched, and a power of great worth could be found somewhere on their hallowed grounds.

Summary
After the encounter with the Disir, Merlin finds himself forced to take destiny into his own hands to prevent Arthur's fate and must come to accept his role as Emrys.
Arthur, too, is afraid he has sealed the fate of Camelot in refusing to allow magic to return to the land. When he hears tell of the fated Emrys, a God who is meant to help him usher in a golden age of peace, he cannot imagine turning down his kingdom's last chance at salvation.

Summary
It's been nearly five years since Merlin disappeared when Arthur retook the castle from Morgana. Since then, Arthur has been steadfastly working to make up for his past failings and trying to make magic legal. He's told his best chance for advice is with the sorcerer-quasi-god Emrys, so he decides to seek the man out for help.
If he has a second reason relating to Merlin, that's entirely his own business. He's the one that's mourned the man he loved for five years, after all.
