“So you want money,” Silco says flatly.
“Look," Vander says, "Those reparation payments that prick is demanding – that’s too much. The Last Drop can’t afford that. I can’t afford it. It’s not just my livelihood, Silco. It’s everyone I care about. The children will be out on the street.”
Silco’s face is devoid of any expression. “So. You want money.”
Left with crippling debt and a failing business, Vander's only option to save the Last Drop is to ask Silco for a loan. Over the span of a few weeks, Vander's debt is cleared, the bar has gotten a makeover, Silco's henchmen have started using it as their hangout, and throughout it all, Silco is refusing to be paid back.

Tim always knew it was a possibility that he might die early. He’s not exactly made his peace with it, but he’s willing to adapt, especially if this is what it takes to help Jason get over his weird vendetta and reunite the Wayne family again. It's called taking one for the team.

Slow footsteps. And then, from behind one of their prototypes, comes – a boy. Nine, maybe ten years old. Pale, brown hair, golden eyes. Ragged clothes. Limping.
Jayce frowns. The family resemblance is obvious, but Viktor never mentioned that he had a brother. “Did Viktor bring you here?”
“Viktor?” the boy asks, frowning right back at him. “I’m Viktor.”
Due to a failed experiment, Viktor is turned into a child. Suddenly on his own and feeling desperately out of his depth, Jayce does his best to take care of him while also figuring out a way to bring his partner back.

Silco’s face is hard and he shoves his pick back in its holder; chucks his helmet noisily into his locker. ‘Well. Don’t want,’ he says, and leaves.
Don’t want. Impossible. Impossible, when Vander is next to Silco every day watching the lean flex of his muscles beneath his skin, watching him scrape his hair back into a rough knot, watching him crick his neck as he tips a glass of whisky back and forth in his clever, narrow-fingered hands. Don’t want. Easier said than done.
Or: before it all went wrong, Silco and Vander had something good.
