Summary
Leofard leans back in his seat, raising his cup to his chin as he studies him. Brown eyes blink back at him, guarded but curious, and Leofard thinks about how quiet he was outside, he thinks about the way his mouth pulled into a frown beneath his helmet, what was visible when the rest of him was hidden.
“I'd bet you're looking for a distraction.”
The way Emile's brows raise tell him he's right, but then he nods. "Aye."
“Well, hero,” he says, and he shifts closer until their knees touch. “I just so happen to make an excellent distraction.”
After the Dragonsong War, Emile meets Leofard Myste.

Summary
Nagomi had a dozen different stories as to how Passenger ended up on the side of her face. A deal, a bet, a cursed rock she probably shouldn’t have picked up, a game briefly played in the cave she found it in, the winner whoever she felt like saying at the time.
The truth was she didn’t know. She couldn’t remember, and trying to remember in the days or weeks or months or years afterward just made something in the back of her head squeeze, trying too hard gave her a headache that wouldn’t go away for half an hour.
What she did know was that however it happened, it ended with her opening her eyes in a narrow cave with an entrance lined by rows of teeth, making it feel as if she were in a maw just big enough to fit her. The Hellmouth was rumbling in the earth below her, a sheer cliff dropping directly into it barely twenty feet away.(A story of Nagomi, Passenger, Psychopomps and Precognition.)
