Summary
Alastor is a little bored, and a little introspective.
It's not a good combination when you're as impulsive a person as he is.
The airwaves have been dull, lately - nobody is even pushing back against him anymore.
So - he decides to take matters into his own hands.

Summary
Six times Angel and Fat Nuggets learned about Alastor's fawn traits in a crisis, and one time it was casual.
This was requested by a guest in the comments of Hidden Hurts. They asked for expansion on Alastor's fawn traits/instincts and I took the idea and ran with it lol. It's a 6+1 because I had to split one of that chapters in half (it was originally about 50 pages lmao) I'm planning to update the tags as I go, so watch for that. Warnings will be at the beginning of each chapter.

Summary
After Alastor's last panic attack, Angel's been keeping a close eye on the Radio Demon. Unfortunately from what he can tell, the overlord hasn't been doing too hot since the extermination, and it's only a matter of time before everything boils to the surface.
OR
An idea from @TeddyLockwood in the comments of the last one in this series, where Alastor is coping with his injuries from the battle. I couldn't say no to another opportunity to write Alastor whump with Therapy Pig Fat Nuggets lol

Summary
Fat Nuggets is the best therapy pig Angel could have asked for. He even alerts to the other people in the hotel on rare occasions because he's just that good at his job.
Angel never expected him to alert to Alastor. But maybe the feared Radio Demon isn't quite as put together as he wants everyone to believe.
OR
I wanted a therapy animal to alert to Alastor going through some shit bc someone else's dog alerted to me in a Walmart the other day and I wanted to project.

Summary
Alastor had always considered himself extremely good at lying.
It was something of a necessity, when one’s day job was hosting a radio program which was rapidly growing in popularity – and their nighttime activities involved introducing their favourite blade to their current least favourite man.
Oh yes, Alastor had talked himself out of a number of suspiciously close calls, with Mimzy as a more than reliable alibi.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t see a way to talk himself out of this.

Summary
Alastor had taken to staying at Vee Tower more often than not. Only of a nighttime, mind – he wasn't neglecting his duties about the hotel, nor had he forgotten Lilith's warning. He'd been utilising Angel in Charlie's training, considering Vox was often otherwise occupied, and the girl had finally started to grasp some rudimentary control of her powers. She was now able to call upon her demonic features and unholy fire without the need to goad her into a rage, first – though those skills alone wouldn't make her a general for the army Lilith intended her to lead.
That challenge was an entirely different kettle of flesh, as Rosie might say – and Alastor still felt a twinge of apprehension when he considered the Queen's plans to wage war on Heaven from the inside.

Summary
It certainly felt odd to be finding out new things about Vox's sleeping habits, particularly after spending so many nights with him – but it seemed as if there were still things Alastor had to learn about his new... what should he call him? Beau?
No – that felt just as juvenile. He would stick with partner, for the time being.
In any case – he'd never known that Vox actually liked to sleep on his side, some nights. Something that proved a little challenging, what with his rather unique form. But Vox was nothing if not innovative, and once he'd upgraded his head to the point he could no longer use the side of it to rest on, he'd been forced to come up with a creative new solution for the nights he didn't feel like sleeping supine, like a corpse laid out to rest.

Summary
It hadn't taken Vox long to restore power to the building – after isolating the problem and disconnecting it from the mains, switching the breaker was enough to get the lights humming, air conditioners buzzing, elevator chiming – all the noises one expected from a building this size and didn't typically notice until they were gone.
The problem, however, was Vox's main control room.

Summary
It would be difficult to describe the sadistic glee winding through Alastor's incorporeal form at the sight of Valentino in some kind of hammock of – presumably – his own making, suspended in the middle of his sunken tub. Like a fly all wrapped up to become the spider's next meal, and wouldn't it be hilarious to invite Angel here to witness this?
He could flick through his portfolio right now, tug on the chain binding Angel to him – Hell, he could even bring Husk along for the ride, he was sure the old gambler would get a kick out of it – but he suspected doing so might risk provoking Vox's ire, so he very graciously restrained himself.
It would have been hilarious, though.

Summary
Despite the fact that his opinion of Vox had changed rather drastically over the last several months, Alastor suspected that his opinion of the entertainment district itself would take a far longer time to adjust.
If it ever did.
He usually tried to avoid looking out the windows of the car during their trips – because the harsh neon lights tended to blur together, the giant images of Vox on the billboards or projected over the walls of buildings rather disorienting when he had the real thing at his side.

Summary
Something had changed between Alastor and Vox.
Alastor wasn’t sure exactly what it was that had triggered it – whether it had been his willingness to trust Vox with the knowledge that Alastor trusted him – whether it was his decision to extend that trust to certain intimacies, whether it was the intimacies themselves that had provoked the change…
Or if it was the simple act of talking the night before – that admission of fears, old wounds laid bare and the poison finally drained from them so that they might heal anew.
But something had changed.

Summary
“Who the Hell would have guessed that the terrifying Radio Demon is actually as needy as an old cat?” Vox muttered, claws petting gently through still slightly damp hair as Alastor rested comfortably on his chest.
Alastor let out an irritated crackle of static – but he didn't deign to move. If Vox was going to insist on taunting him, then he could deal with the slowly spreading damp patch on his pyjama shirt.
He wasn't wrong, though.
Considering Alastor had never felt the need to cuddle or grope or generally be this close to another person – he'd become rather addicted to the sensation.

Summary
It wasn't as if Alastor didn't want to talk about what had happened, the night after Vox had left and Lilith had revealed she held more of Alastor's strings than he'd ever thought possible.
For one thing – he couldn't. Was physically incapable of giving anything but the most bare-bones details, yes or no answers to whatever questions Vox might think to ask. It was rather difficult to have a conversation with somebody when saying the wrong thing might glue his mouth shut for the next several minutes.
For another, every time Vox started to ask about it, began to question exactly what Alastor had dreamt that had left him so panicked – Alastor had decided that there were far more enjoyable things he could be doing with his mouth.
Vox clearly found it difficult to focus on the topic at hand when something else was at hand instead.

Summary
Time had lost all meaning. Even the hunger pangs that used to alert him to the passage of days had disappeared, his demonic body getting used to this new form of internal damage. It wasn't as if it had any permanent effect on him, after all – he couldn't starve, couldn't gain or lose weight – so the desire to eat was more of a habit carried over from his living years.
He had little to do but try and sleep, jolting himself awake when he moved an arm in his unconsciousness, ramming it into the unforgiving walls of his prison. Because he'd had the audacity to roll over, the size of the box changing while he'd slept – at times big enough to rotate in, to spin on his heels – at others no bigger than a coffin, the first one he'd ever had.

Summary
The common assumption about sinners who had a larger, more demonic form that they could morph into was that it was something they couldn't control – that it wasn't really them, not in the same way the rest of their personality was. That it was yet another divine punishment, to inflict the beast upon the man, forcing his primal urges to take over and push his conscious mind into being nothing more than a passenger – along for the horrifying ride.
Like being forced to stay on a roller-coaster and watch the track end, knowing that you were going to sail into the abyss but being unable to do anything about it.
That was not the case for Alastor, of course.

Summary
“Goodness. If I'd known this was going to be a party event, I'd have prepared tea,” Alastor said drily, twisting his hands on the stick of his microphone even as he kept his lockjaw smile in place. He wouldn't demonstrate any nervousness, not now – not when he was so close to getting this steel removed from his chest.
“Oh, cut the attitude, mister. When Vox here told me what was happening, I said 'I'll be there at dawn, don't you dare let him get started without me',” Rosie shot back, belying her harsh tone by bustling over and tapping curiously at the magnet in Alastor's chest.
It hid Alastor's face from Lucifer for just a moment, the king busy muttering to himself as he went over a light projection of Alastor's body, the steel in his chest glowing a sickly green in the image. Rosie gave him a concerned glance, pursing her lips.
“You sure about this, sweetie?”

Summary
If somebody had told Alastor six months ago – Hell, even three months ago – that he’d be spending his afternoon with Vox sprawled beneath him on a couch provided by the King of Hell – well.
He probably would have collapsed with laughter, before cutting their tongue out and sautéing it with a side of rice.
Who the couch had been provided by was irrelevant, really. But it felt like an interesting talking point, this misuse of royal furniture. Though with the residents of the hotel, perhaps it wasn't all that unexpected.

Summary
The experience of watching Vox disappear into a blue streak and zip into a light, only to reappear in a flash that left after images of his form hovering in Alastor’s vision like a poorly developed roll of film – it was, not to use a phrase that might be seen as predictable, but really was the only fitting word – electrifying.
He’d fought Vox many times over the years of their enmity, but he'd usually been focused on his own next move, planning on when to sink into the shadows, or busy lashing out with a tendril to catch Vox off guard, sending him crashing to the floor while he disappeared with a dark echo of laughter. He’d never quite appreciated how fascinating it was to watch the TV demon use his powers this way, so similar and yet so different from Alastor’s own.
Light in comparison to darkness. Quick, jagged movements instead of the murky flow Alastor utilised. Two sides of the same coin, really, and it was simply a shame it had taken him so long to realise that fact.

Summary
As far as Alastor was concerned, what had happened earlier deserved nothing more than to be packaged up in a neat little box in his mind, tied off with a roll of caution tape, and tucked away at the very back of his mental closet, never to be spoken of again.
Unfortunately, he suspected Vox held an entirely different opinion on the matter.
Luckily for him, they didn't have time to indulge in some kind of ridiculous heart-to-heart, a discussion of Alastor's sexual proclivities (or lack thereof) – they had a significant amount of damage control to do! Largely centred around the fact that one of Vox's main business partners was currently getting scraped off the pavement like pancake batter stuck to the pan.
And Velvette wanted an explanation.

Summary
Vox couldn't be implying what Alastor thought he was implying. He simply couldn't.
“Are you telling me that this won't subside unless we... have sex? Or – what? It's going to kill me?” Alastor ground out, refusing to lower his legs from his protective curl, doing his best to keep still and ignore the heat flaring over his skin – the pounding from below his navel.
Vox's signal was difficult to read – or perhaps it was that Alastor was simply too distracted, the aching need between his legs making bile rise at the back of his throat. Vox didn't feel terrified, though, which Alastor liked to imagine he would if his life was actually on the line.
The TV demon swallowed, his screen darkening.
