    “Fullmetal, it is called pioneer for a reason.” Mustang sat behind his desk in his new office, gloved hands rubbing his temple. “Amestris has fallen behind the world so far that we need to scramble forward to catch up. We’ve no idea what we’re dealing with. It is your job to find out anything important that we need to know.”

    Ed stared at his superior officer for a few seconds before he shrugged. “Okay, so no guidelines. No directions. Nothing. I can do whatever the hell I want.”

    And to Ed’s shock Mustang just nodded.
