Summary
For as long as she could remember, Aelith longed for something more. Working as an engineer trainee for a space station that harvests stars? Good enough. But when the station is attacked by something that shouldn't even exist, Aelith is forced to flee with her crew into the vastness of space. She crash lands into unknown terrain, alone and afraid.

Summary
I had a crazy idea to write a story in which Bucky Barnes somehow falls through a portal (or maybe just hits his head) and finds himself.... in Middle-Earth. You read that correctly. About the Middle of the Third Age, to be precise.
Is it a dream, or is he really here, encountering Elves, Dwarves and some very strange Men - as well as an Orc or two and maybe even Gandalf at some point? I have not made up my mind up, but I hope to have fun with a modern superhuman lost in a very strange world, full of creatures just as powerful as him.
I don't know how this will turn out, or how people will like it, but here's my first chapter.
The author is European, hence the spelling and forgive me if I get any details about the American landscape wrong.

Summary
Snow drifted in thick, lazy flurries, settling over the earth like a downy quilt. The world outside was still, wrapped in a hush so deep that even the trees seemed to be holding their breath beneath the weight of winter. Jien stood by the window, fingers curled around a steaming cup of tea, letting its warmth seep into her skin. The scent of herbs, earthy and familiar, mixed with the crisp chill that bled through the wooden frame.
This was home. Quiet. Steady. A life she had built with her own hands, far removed from the clash of swords and the thunder of war drums. She had chosen this—this solitude, this peace—though her small farm and its ever-growing collection of animals made sure she was never truly alone. It was a good life, if a simple one.
The sudden knock at the door jolted her from her thoughts, her fingers tightening instinctively around the cup. A visitor? In this weather?..
