“Hmm.” Solas checked his thumb, then pressed his pointer finger into the linen, rubbing into it. Evie glanced at the gesture; five seconds, at most. “If mistaken, then I am happy to drop the subject.”
“That seems unlike you.” Did it? Was she teasing? Oh, no, was she flirting?
Whatever she was doing, Solas smiled regardless. “I do not typically drop the subject when I am wrong, no. To do so would be to flee an opportunity to learn something.”
“Quite right!” she said, and would be happy to flee to Seheron. Nothing to be done for it, if she ran off, he’d see the crown all the same, and so she drew it out from behind her back.

Broke through. Found blood. Worsened the situation, for the most part; a raw and wailing something rolled up through his ribs, and hitched his breath—he slipped his hand down his face, made a fist against his quivering mouth, pressed a surging gasp back.

“If anything died here, Hawke, it did not do so alone,” Fenris grumbled, before stopping to gag into his shoulder for the fifth time.
The wretched woman draped in his arms hummed, half-giddy. “Gross,” she cooed, then feigned what had to be the loudest sigh he’d ever heard. “Someone’s gotta clean up this city!”
Another wave of nausea met Fenris’ stomach; he wouldn’t terribly mind joining the dead somethings, for through the swill of his mind, there bobbed another correction: that had been the second loudest sigh he’d ever heard, feigned from that smiling mouth.

Throat hoarse, nose dribbling, brain burning through her face, puffy-cheeked, soaked, grotesque as a squashed-up plum, and Solas thought she was so beautiful. Tears crusted her cheeks like blood; did that happen? She wiped her cheeks. Waste of her hands, Solas deserved them both—she cupped his face. Cheekbones high and curved; Solas was so handsome, and nobody would ever read poetry about it. That didn’t seem fair. Even if she learned how to write it, or paint him, she’d do it wrong, no-one wanted to listen to her, anyway, because he would've destroyed the world.
