Selene's nightmare, and Nyx's thousand-year vengeance.
It only takes a thought to tap into the swirling well of power laying dormant in her chest. Those poisonous emotions—humanity’s resentment, all their rage and evil and obsession—flow like a current through Nyx, into Selene. It’s a mere drop compared to the powers she wielded a thousand years ago, but this small amount is more than enough to deal with a mortal.
And that’s all her jiejie is now: a mortal. A mortal who can’t remember her, much less stop her.

“What’s wrong?” Selene asks.
Iris pauses; has she gotten so transparent? She turns around to look at Selene, their faces a hair’s breadth away. Selene’s emotions are painted all over her face, Iris wonders if hers are the same.
“Do you want to go home?” Selene says, patient.
“No,” Iris shakes her head. She pauses, curling fingers around Selene’s wrist. Her discomfort eases—the dim bathroom lighting, the soft hum of the hand dryer, the muffled chatter just a room away—the world wanes, as her focus shapes itself around the girl before her.
Iris and Selene clumsily try again.

It’s a little petty of her to feel jealous, Shizuku knows. Airi is a popular girl, and she doesn’t have infinite time. Much of it she’s already devoting to making More More Jump the best they can be – so she really shouldn’t be so selfish.
Yet, she selfishly, selfishly wishes that sometimes she could have Airi all to herself. Just for a little bit.
Maybe then she’d listen – maybe then she’d believe the words that tumble out of Shizuku’s mouth every time she hears her put herself down. Maybe then she’d understand just how strongly Shizuku feels about this – about her.
For someone so dazzling – well, Shizuku thinks it’s a shame she’s so blinded by her own radiance that she can’t see it for herself.
