Summary
Remus is broke and out of options. When he receives an offer from Orion Black – full funding for his research in exchange for help on a secret project – he really can’t afford to say no. But spending the summer working at the Black family’s secluded estate brings more than he bargained for, especially when it comes to Sirius.

“But anyway, you’re 35. And I’ll be 24 in a few months. Is it really that big of a deal? I’m not a child, Remus. I can decide what I want.”
No, Sirius was not a child. He was a spoiled, entitled, very beautiful young man, with the world at his feet and no real interest in taking any part of it seriously. Remus couldn’t understand why Sirius wanted anything to do with him, but he had a hypothesis: Sirius was bored. He was a spoiled brat, stuck spending the summer locked in this house against his will, and now he was using Remus to entertain himself.
And if it was only a summer thing, did it really matter that Sirius was younger? That he was rich, and beautiful, and perfect, and Remus was a werewolf with nothing to his name?
Somewhere in the middle of all those thoughts, Remus realised – all this time, he’d been bracing for a fall he was already mid-way through.

Or: Sirius Black, heir to the most ruthless hunting dynasty in Great Britain, was raised to believe that werewolves were meant to be tracked, cornered, and cut down. Until the night everything changed. His own life saved by someone he never saw coming. Twelve years later, Sirius is still hunting; not just monsters, but answers. (Basically I mixed every supernatural show I’ve watched and made the Hunter x Monster trope for a solid enemies to enemies with benefits. Dark romance warning!)

“Perhaps I saw you boarding the train,” Remus removed his hand from Sirius’ and brought it to his hair, tucking a curl behind the man’s ear. “and perhaps I stood up to intercept you.” Remus’ hand remained on Sirius’ cheek, which was now the shade of a peony, no doubt. “Couldn’t have the crowd crushing a pretty little thing like you? Now could I?”
It takes everything in Sirius not to fall over then and there. Fall to his knees to worship the man in front of him. Perhaps do other things that should not be uttered in the same sentence as a holy act, nor done on public transport.

In a world where humanoid robots have indeed taken over, we have Remus Lupin, the man who hates the tech driven future and all those involved in its development, but also the man who has chronic pain and has been prescribed a robotic aid to live with him and assist him in his daily life.
Enter Sirius Black, not a robot, but actually a very real boy, who was so charmed by the cute guy in the robot shop that he didn’t bother to correct him when he was mistaken for a synth and told to come home with him.
In this day and age, synths can do it all, laundry, dishes, gardening, cooking, grocery shopping, and even a bathroom remodel if you ask them to. Unfortunately for Sirius, he’s never even made a successful slice of toast. So if he wants to save face and keep spending time with Remus, he’s going to have to learn how to be a robot and learn quickly, because despite the abundance of pink laundry in his future, Remus might just be equally fond of Sirius too.
