If it weren’t for the luminous moonlight filtering through the curtains above the sink, she doesn’t think she would’ve caught it. Rushed jolts of anxious tingles shoot down the woman’s back and the aching sensation of her heart beating vigorously beneath her ribs clouds her senses. In those next few seconds of silence, she tries to pretend it's not there. Breathing silent, hot — leaving the beginnings of moisture on her cheek.
Whoever it is, it surely wasn’t him. But she’d already known that for a while now, hadn’t she? It'd been tormenting her with that knowledge. And she just wants it all to stop.
