Will felt gravity leave him, felt his body untether itself from this mortal realm and float directly into the setting sun. The room was casted in a yellow-gold, beamless and directionless - and because Will was a sinner, he replied, "About what?"
Mike's face creased. He shook the rolled up painting, tightening his fist around it. "About this, Will. Don't play dumb."

The boy shifts from one foot to another as he lingers on the threshold. “May I come in?” he repeats, more of a plea than a question.
Will clenches and unclenches the knife in his hand. “Tell me your name first.”
The boy curves his lips in the ghost of a smile. “Michael.”
Will lowers the knife a fraction, though he does not release it. His voice quivers: “Why me?”
Michael tilts his head again, and this time, his eyes glint just the slightest human. “Because you are alone. And so am I.”
Will holds his breath, then whispers: “You may come in.”
Just like that, he seals his fate in blood.

His mind would even wander into the scenario of murder.
The thought made him bite his lip, before remembering he had a project to do. He wiped his face with his hands, and turned back to his project partner.
Some of the party has witnessed this too, but chose not to question it. Not even Will himself. He'd noticed Mike was a little more touchy than usual, defensive when the group teases Will, even had a soft, relaxed voice when it came to talking with Will that he wouldn't use with anyone else. Will thought that maybe, he's just making sure that he's okay after the events of him going missing and being possessed.
But he doesn’t think that was the reason why Mike was staring at him while kissing El at a school dance.
