Summary
There were many things that Astarion appreciated about being an exotic dancer.
However, he had no love for shift work.
The actual problem was trying to find time to scoff down a sufficient meal to keep his stomach from complaining. Which it was right now, only three hours into his shift. Perhaps the Madame wouldn’t mind if he slunk back upstairs, if only to grab a bite to eat.
Then again, there was rarely anything — ugh, gluten free available. The life of a celiac was such a chore.

Jayce blinked. He looked up fully, caught off guard. “What?”
“I’ve never made one,” Viktor repeated. “A fort,” he clarified a second later. “Blanket or otherwise.”
“There were…other priorities.” Viktor’s gaze wandered around the dim, lifeless interior of the lab as he continued. “We didn’t have many blankets to spare. And then I grew up. Too quickly, maybe.” Viktor turned to Jayce fully then, and for the first time since he’d spoken, met his eyes. “I always thought it was a lovely idea, though.” His voice dropped, quiet but sure as he held his gaze. “You could make one now, if you wanted.”

When a winter storm blows through Piltover, the founders of Hextech are stuck in their lab, unable to focus on work. One aches from the cold, the other trying to keep the chill at bay. A much needed break turns into a soft conversation, and the conversation finds itself wandering through what should have been simpler times in a heartless world. But at least, for once, the world can't find them here. Just for today.

Summary
From his post, Viktor had a perfect view of him, ever studious and ever handsome, so young. Anyone with eyes and an interest in men would find Jayce interesting to watch across the room, he often told himself. Viktor was no stranger to attraction, but his proclivity for alone time had relegated him to a few trysts over the years, largely physical, never lasting. Just enough to scratch the itch.
Watching Jayce was scratching an itch.
Catching his eye across the room and smiling like they had a secret was scratching an itch.
But Viktor wasn’t delusional. With all of Paris at Jayce’s fingertips, it would be ill-advised and unthinkable for him to settle for a banged-up, old librarian.

At first, static. Then a face appears on the screen, that of a man in his mid-to-late thirties. Cold and slightly gaunt, with pyritically golden eyes and a piercing gaze.
Viktor’s breath hitches, heart pounding in his chest. He’s never seen his own face. But he knows, without a doubt — this is him.
“My name is Viktor S.,” says the man with his face, looking down at the stack of cards in his hands, “I am making this video roughly two hours before it will be shown to me.” He flips to the next card. “I have, of my own free accord, undergone the procedure colloquially known as Severance.”
Viktor S. wakes up with a hole in his head. Then he wakes up at Lumon.
As he reluctantly settles into his new life on the Severed Floor, drawn to the handsome and kind Jayce T., the mystery of who his Outie is and why he put Viktor on the Severed Floor begins to unravel when they activate the Overtime Contingency.
Viktor S. wakes up on the outside, and he goes looking for Jayce Talis.
