Summary
“I fail to understand why you continue to pester me,” D’fhiri grumbled, stalking north towards Fanow. Emet-Selch dragged his feet behind her in interminable pursuit. “Surely there is better company to keep elsewhere.”
“And miss your deeds and misadventures?” His words held the cadence of a sardonic joke, with none the humor. “On the contrary, Warrior. If I am to while away the minutes with anyone, I would rather it be you.”
“And why is that?”
He took so long to answer the question that she almost forgot she had asked.
“You are simply good company.”
During a moment of shared vulnerability, the Warrior of Light discovers that Emet-Selch harbors attraction towards her. Resolving to use this knowledge to further the Scions' cause, she decides to seduce him.

Summary
“I am performing poorly as Emissary, indeed, if I have not even heard of the place my—.” He stumbled on his words, blushing. “That is, the place my friend calls home.”
“Why all these questions?” she asked. “I thought you wished to keep me at a mysterious arm’s length, all the better for your enticement.”
“It seems the only thing I am enticed by today,” he said, “is my ravenous curiosity for everything about you.”
After spending a long day or more securing Pandaemonium for its warders, the Warrior of light, D'fhiri, and her two Ancient friends allow themselves a break from their tireless endeavor. Elpis researchers are celebrating the spring equinox on the floating islands, and they would be remiss to let it pass. While Erichthonios arranges sleeping quarters for the two of them, Themis and D'fhiri get to know each other better, the attraction between them sparking, kindling into flame.

Summary
There was a gentle fluttering of robes, and when she heard the individual draw near enough, she launched onto her feet, swiping a leg outward, hoping to knock them off-kilter.
The white-robed Ascian stumbled back a step, scowled.
She rolled her eyes. It was only Elidibus again.
On the last day the Scions house their base in the Waking Sands, Warrior of Light D'fhiri Jinh takes a break from heavy labor to sit atop the roof for a spell. An uneasy acquaintance joins her, forgoing his sinister ways for some quiet company.

Summary

It was only fair, Elene’shpya thought. He’d shown off his stomping grounds, so why not humor hers?
There was only one problem: the Rroneek.

Summary
He could barely recall her laugh, her smile. She had been so long ago, far longer than he had ever expected to live. Not that his memory of her made such a large difference in light of his endless strife towards salvation of the star.
Zodiark ate at the edges of his memory every day, every new refresh gifted by his own soul crystal feeling more and more like a flimsy bandage over a fatal wound. He would bleed out before he clotted.
But he remembered how Azem made him feel — felt it like an echo of an ache in his chest, like a smell long forgotten, the feeling of a day and place he’d never find again.
But this Warrior of Light — she was not like that. Not better or worse, just… different in ways that he noticed, and found himself coming to admire. She was unfiltered sunshine, full of energy and vibrance, all mystery shed in favor of rage.
Elidibus attempts to distract the Warrior of Light away from a formal city-state meeting. He is successful.

Summary
“Was there not something else included in the letter though, Fhiri? Some instructions of sorts…and a gift?” G’raha said.
“A small package of saffron actually, wrapped very carefully in bright yellow cloth of a particularly distinct origin,” Fhiri said. “The letter said my next set of instructions would be found where I could purchase both of these items locally.”
