He Xuan need not open her mouth to comment as Mu Qing has already smacked confused Quan Yizhen and is now explaining how the comment was inappropriate when she hears a sigh coming from Shi Qingxuan.
“I wish I was inside her”
The silence that follows is deafening.

Summary
He Xuan doesn’t take her eyes off Shi Qingxuan. Not once. Not even when she stabs the butt of the cigarette at the wall and throws it in the trash. Not when she makes her way to the door.
“Do you even love her?” She hates how cold and almost cocky her voice comes out.
Shi Qingxuan stops and looks at her for the first time that night, the first time after six months and He Xuan wishes she could take it back; she wishes she could take everything back.
“She doesn’t hate me,” is all she says before she goes inside and He Xuan, in her foolish delirium, thinks no one could love and hate Shi Qingxuan as much as her.

It’s chilly enough outside the bar that Mu Qing regrets not wearing a jacket; he folds his arms in front of his chest as he stands close to Feng Xin, leaning over his phone’s screen as he pulls up the ride sharing app. He’s close enough to see the fine stitching on the lapel of Feng Xin’s jacket, and close enough to catch the faint trace of a floral cologne clinging to him.
Feng Xin hesitates with the app open rather than typing a destination address.
“If you want,” he says after a second, “you could come back to my place.”

Mu Qing is starting a new job, and takes his mind off the stress via a one night stand with a handsome man he meets at a bar. He doesn't expect to meet him again at work the next day.
