But kindness doesn't make for good music, most of the time. It's easy to tell a story about a hero when everyone dreams of one, or about the horrors of war when the smell of bloodied corpses is still fresh. It's harder to make someone experience what they've never known, and kindness is hard to come by in these perilous times. Harder, still, to believe in.

It’s genuinely uncomfortable to watch.
Especially since Bruce knows that change. He’s seen it in the mirror before entering parties or nightclubs. He’s always referred to it, internally, as 'putting on my better face.' The façade is his least favourite part of the day, ranking just below 'getting punched by supervillains.'
The idea that Superman is just Kal's better face, that would explain a lot.
It would also mean Bruce isn't alone.

Very... British lmfao. Not sure how to describe it, but very brit.
The story itself is very short and sweet, but I loved it! I loved the characterizations of 00Q here. My favorite scene was the date scene 🥺 so good
I also really loved how noticeable the age difference is here, but like. Not in a way that matters? Like it's not put there for the sake of being a conflict point, we just love old men. I love that so much

Though his verbal apology was pathetic, Sherlock had been nearly tripping over himself to make his absence up to John. And Mary was apparently giving him her permission to give him what they both wanted.
But there was one other person Sherlock was very eager to please as well. Granted, Sherlock's willingness to please Mary lacked the same fervency as his desire to please John, but there was a tenderness to it that didn't exist for anyone else. Which was not to say that Sherlock could not be tender – Mrs. Hudson was proof of that. But Sherlock wasn't desperately trying to make Mrs Hudson happy, either. Mary was extremely puzzled when a wide smile spread along John face, until he said “Do you want to be Mama?”
