“Elphaba,“ Fiyero looks at her, guilt etched on to his features. “Elphaba, I didn’t mean it.“
She ignores him and rushes to Glinda’s side, lowering herself down and checking over the wounded leg.
“Elphaba?” Fiyero steps towards her but she glares at him which causes him to stop.
“She is the only friend I’ve ever had! And you shot her!”
OR
Fiyero accidentally shoots Glinda in the cornfield and Elphaba scarecrows him in response and kidnaps Glinda to nurse her back to health.

Summary
Lev wasn’t hers by blood either but she imagined what she felt for him must be what most parents feel for their children. She’d give up anything for him and that would include a cure too, she thinks, and she can’t help but wonder when she started thinking this way. She remembered encouraging her father with what he was doing, telling her she’d want to make that sacrifice if she was immune.
But Lev was different.
Perhaps in part, it was due to him being the only thing she had left now. But still she’d given up everything for him even before that was the case and gone against the Wolves to protect a Seraphite. Was she as terrible as Joel was for feeling this way? She’d realised fairly quickly that him being dead hadn’t made her feel any better but did she deserve to suffer the same way she’d felt he did, had ensured he did?

As Lev sleeps, Abby ponders on parenthood and a newfound understanding of Joel. Mostly an Abby character study really.

“Where did this little thing come from?” Glinda asked.
Elphaba lifted her head up from the pillow to look. Glinda, whose head was still resting against Elphaba’s chest, had picked up the little stuffed monkey that resided at the end of Elphaba’s bed. Its brownish fur was a little matted and faded with age but it was one of very few toys that had survived Elphaba’s early childhood in one piece. Most of them had ended up broken if not entirely destroyed. It wasn’t abnormal for a baby or toddier to explore things by putting them in their mouth, but it was abnormal for said children to have a full set of teeth that were sharp enough to cut through bone.

Glinda finds an old toy monkey of Elphie’s and it turns out they’ve been a special interest of Elphaba’s since she was two.

Summary
After her mother‘s visit which delved into an argument, things worsen for Galinda when a thunder storm, something she is terrified off, wakes her up in the night. Luckily she has an Elphie to comfort her.
(Shiz-era Gelphie hurt/comfort with a dash of angst at the start. Mainly musical based because I haven’t fully read the books yet.)

When the figures hunting her burst through the trees however, Elphaba felt her breath catch in her throat. Carefully, bracing herself on one of the branches near her, Elphaba leaned out to catch a better look. But she didn’t need one. She would have recognized them anywhere, even with the differences of time. That lazy slouch morphing into rigid posture. Those choreographed steps looking less than pristine.
