"I’m Tadashi, by the way." He smiled while he said it, and the words sounded like they were being pulled from left to right like chewing gum.
"Hiro."
"Hiro." It was a small word slipping through his mouth, careful like he was scared he’d crush it with his teeth. Hiro was still trying to put his brain back together, but those fucking eyes made it all fall apart again and again.
This was getting borderline ridiculous.
"Nice to meet you." He dribbled his fingers across the mug. "Hiro."
And there it was again - his name coming from another mouth. And people said Hiro’s name all the time. They groaned it and cursed it and screamed it inches away from his face, but they never said it in a way that made it feel personal, too close for comfort, like knees brushing and hands touching.

Summary
Tadashi didn't die in the fire. No, he was 'rescued' by the lovely HYDRA organization to be forced into working on their latest weapon for the past year. Thankfully a real rescue is on its way courtesy of the Avengers, but even so Tadashi won't quite make it out unscathed. A year is a long time to be in the care of HYDRA, and Tadashi isn't going to be the same when it's over. Not without a little help.

Faint crackling electricity, like the fabric of a windbreaker rubbing against itself, covering the sound of shifting rubble and settling dust. It’s a sound Katsuki’s heard a thousand times before, usually preceded with a shout from Deku saying One For All-
“Full Cowling,” Katsuki whispers, staring and grasping for words. “What the fuck.”
Deku is standing near Katsuki’s feet, back bowed forward like Atlas and body lit up with a green so bright it’s incandescent. Blackwhip escapes from his arms in countless tendrils, lightning arcs off his body every second, and there’s a faint tremble running through his legs.
