Summary
Roald fell in love with Kel, the only girl willing to become a knight. Kel loves Roald, but he's a prince and above her station. Her father is in charge with arranging Roald a marriage to a Yamani princess. The princess turns out to be a girl she had been friends with. Roald and Shinko discover that Shinko is infertile, and approach Kel to ask her to secretly bear King Roald the heir to the kingdom so as to not dismantle the peace between Tortall and the Yamani Islands.

Summary
Percy is four years old the first time his dreams lead him to his many-great-grandmother’s chambers- a woman long dead yet somehow still seated in front of him, fingers grasping at her hair tightly as she wails about a wooden horse on the beach while her servants look on in pity. He feels the weight of something ancient and heavy settle on his shoulders in that moment.
He's in his 3rd grade classroom while his teacher screams at him for making up lies about gods and monsters and scaring the other children. He's still eight when his mother's own visions become too much for her to bear.
He's twelve when Grover Underwood finally finds him at Yancy Academy and says "I believe you" for the first time. And as Percy begins to feel lighter, that ancient weight that has followed him his whole life slowly dissipating, he realizes that being believed can be just as horrifying as being thought mad.
