Just paperwork. Sponsorship decks. A coach yelling into his phone. A player with a twisted ankle. Apologies. Smiles. Endless scheduling.
He rubbed his temples with the pads of his fingers, then leaned back again. His reflection in the window looked like someone he might have passed in the hallway and forgotten to say hello to. He felt transparent. Not in a sad way—just in the way that paper left in the rain becomes too soft to hold its shape.
(In which Kuroo has the worst housing crisis of his life, is way too used to concealing his feelings, and maybe doesn't need the spare room after all.)
