“Nam-su, let’s switch teams,” Thanos said, holding out his hand, “I’ll protect you, promise.”
“Nah, man. I’ll keep it, protect you for once,” Nam-gyu said, gently nudging the other man’s shoulder. “Promise.”
Thanos eyed him for a moment before nodding. “Aight, you better stick to that or I’ll be on your ass,” He chuckled, tucking a strand of Nam-gyu’s hair behind his ear before walking off.
Nam-gyu wasn’t lying, he meant what he said. He’d protect Thanos as best he could, it’s the least he could do for him. Because Thanos actually gave a shit about him and he wasn’t about to lose the only person that did.
Season 3 re-write disguised as Thangyu fic, Thanos survives the bathroom fight and him and Nam-gyu make it to the finalists.

"He knew it by then- that it was only a different Kris who would ever seek him purposefully. That his charge's tangle of selves was something to be dealt with sensitively, ideally separate from any desperate attempts at stuffing lifelong chasms of loneliness. He knew that he, at the very least, owed them some effort."
Ralsei and Kris make an admirable attempt at having normal teenage identity issues. As opposed to... yeah.

Summary
Vander is a pleasant if slightly aimless Zaun independence activist. Silco's just escaped from the mines, vicious and confused, clever and curious about the wider world. They start hanging out.
Begins about ten years before the first scene in Arcane. Is a possible version of the story I think the writers meant us to interpolate from the hints dropped in and out of canon. How Vander and Silco ended up at that scene in the river, with a lot of crime (sometimes organised, sometimes even well-organised) and murder-y humour.

"ROCKSLIDE!"
They both turn to the voice, howling in terror.
The ceiling above them trembles.
Rumbling vibrates through the walls.
"DOWN!"
Vander pushes Silco away. A second later, the ceiling rips.
Screaming. Rumbling. Rocks sliding. Terrible creaking as the mountain around them crumbles.
The lights go out.
The mountain moans and grinds its rocky teeth, swallowing the mine and every soul inside.
