There is only so much that can be done for someone who’s rotting from the inside out. You can stitch them up, wipe away the blood, and pretend that the damage isn’t permanent. But rot spreads, slowly and quietly, no one but the bearer knows it’s there until it’s done its job. It can be held at bay for a time. Slowed. But never undone.
And Izuku knows it.
Knows that no matter how much light he manages to protect his will always dim first.
The rot will always catch up.
