Summary
Frank soaps up his pits and tits and balls, lathering his ass and scrubbing his feet. All practical motions stripped of any pretence at being appealing for for his audience of one. No good angles, no attempt to add any kind of sinuous grace to the mundane bullshit of scrubbing himself with cheap soap until he doesn't stink like days after days of unwashed high humidity sweat. Frank has never been one to be sexy, incapable of play-acting at being coy and alluring, but Cable is still staring at him like he's a starving man leashed back from a feast.

Summary
The rational part of Henry is sure he's making a gigantic tactical error. A fatal mistake to invite a predator into his home, letting Frank know where he lives, leaving himself exposed like a piece of over-ripened fruit ready for the picking. Maybe it's time for Frank to make good on his promise, and Henry just willingly bared his neck in readiness to be slaughtered.
If I ever see you again, I'll kill you.Or maybe they're going back to his apartment and Frank is going to unzip his fly and Henry is going to make good on what the irrational primal stupid part of Henry is banking on happening. He's going to suck Frank dry, or he’s going to grind off on Frank’s thigh like a silly puppy, or Frank is going to fuck him and he hopes to god it’ll be good.

Summary
Christ almighty, Frank thinks, looking down at Cable’s big metal hand on his hip, at the way those banded gleaming inhuman fingers flex and push into his skin as Cable sucks him through spit-stained cotton. God al-fucking-mighty. How did I get this lucky.
Frank Castle gets bent over in a gas station bathroom.

Summary
“I’m not screwing you in the gym,” says Cable, doing a fantastic impression of a man bored to death despite the fact he’s panting hard, chest rising and falling as he grinds up between Logan’s thighs.
“You treatin’ me nice, Snowball?” Logan sets his teeth against the bulge of scar tissue running down Cable’s neck, pressing down ‘til he feels the metal click against his teeth as Cable swallows hard. “Gonna be a gentleman and take me out for dinner first?”
What's a little combative late night screwing around between frenemies?

Summary
“I've got something you're really, really going to enjoy seeing,” says Cable, unbuckling his gear. His big boxy face, normally so stern and patrician, is lit with an expression of genuine excitement, tinged with a layer of smugness that Frank has come to appreciate with time. Frank looks at him and feels his guts take a pleasurable lazy loop, a shiver of something pleasurable and secret and entirely unlike the roiling post-teleportation nausea he’s also experiencing.
Late night kebabs and handjobs by the water. Sounds like a date.

Summary
He barely raises his hand to knock on Cable's door before it opens away from him and he’s left swinging at nothing but air.
“I could hear you coming up the stairs, Frank,” says the teenage girl behind the door, head cricked to the side to hold a phone between her cheek and her shoulder. She's got a shock of red hair knotted up in a messy bun, nails bitten back short. “You gotta learn to turn the mental volume down. You were thinking so loud it blocked out my movie.”Frank, meet Hope. Hope, meet Frank.

Summary
Frank knows he's staring. He's consciously aware that he's standing there, gun loose in his hands and muzzle pointed down, staring in idiot shock at the sight of Cable slumped against a wall in a pool of blood.
The fact that Cable is conscious is surprising, but welcome. The fact that his arm is missing from the bicep down is more of a shock. The shining threads of metal twisting and squirming like living things over a core of ragged bloody meat and glistening blue steel bone, however, have thrown Frank's brain into a hard stall.

Summary
“I’m gonna get a room,” he says abruptly, before he can chickenshit out of doing something pleasant for once. “Over there.” He nods at the motel across the highway.
Cable looks at him through the passenger window, patiently waiting for further explanation.
“You're gonna join me.” No need to make it a request. One, ‘cause he's sure Cable isn't gonna pass up an offer of an easy lay, and two, the more confident he sounds the less likely Cable is gonna tease him in that way that hits the squirrelly embarrassing part of Frank that, deep down, gets hot and stupid over being spoken to like a silly little boy.
“Am I?”
“Yeah.” He scoops up his bag from the back seat, feels the weight of a change of clothes. “Come on. Unless you’ve got something else to do.”
“Nothing that I can’t cancel.” Cable sounds gratifyingly intrigued as he hits the lock on the passenger side door, hip-checking it shut with a thud. “Mrs Summers, are you inviting me in for coffee?”

Summary
Frank has met some informants in weird locations over the years. Flops, bars, subway tunnels. Wide open parking lots at abandoned malls, very awkwardly in strip club champagne rooms.
A pretentious burger place fronting the north end of Central Park at 11AM on a bright Spring morning, however, has so far not been a place where people like to make contact with him. They usually don’t text on his private number either, the one given out to people he could count on one hand. Random informants sure as shit don’t text ‘we gotta talk about nathan’ and send him a link to some place where a basic cheeseburger costs ten fuckin’ bucks.

Summary
There are only two reasons for Frank Castle to be parked up at the front bar in The Princess, sweaty and huge and babying a lite beer: he wants a fight or a fuck. Logan has a preference for which one he'd prefer, but there's no shame in being greedy enough for both.

Frank kicks the door half shut behind him and starts the shower, beer still in his hand. He’ll scrub off the stink and sweat, he reasons to himself, and try his goddamn best to not explode from the dissatisfied anger still burning in his gut. He'll be hospitable. He won't do anything stupid. He won't explode, obliterating everything good he has around him.

Summary
“I’ve got a place in Rochester,” says Cable, too casually to be casual.
Look, he's no innocent. He might be as thick as two bricks on a lot of things, but Frank knows a weak excuse for a hookup when he sees it. Cable's got some fancy teleportation bullshit that can take them from one side of the globe to the other in a heartbeat, yet here he is making a show of looking at his watch and asking if Frank would be alright with laying low and staying close to pick off the kind of bottom-feeder that Frank cleans up by the dozen, if not by the hundreds.
Cable is eyeing him like a piece of prime filet, his interest rolling off him in waves. It’s not unmatched, not by a long shot, but some things are better played close to his chest.
“Weak excuse,” he tells Cable, but slings his bag over his shoulder and scouts the rooftop for anything they’ve left behind. Then there’s cold white light and a pain in his ears, and they’re gone.

Summary
Most people get their pain receptors turned off, and that's it. Nothing else. They don't - can't - feel anything. Total anaesthetic. But sometimes people's brains are unpredictable, or they're just too accustomed to physically hurting. There's no shutting off the pain so they turn it into something else.

Summary
As a rule Frank isn't accustomed to mixing business and pleasure. He shows up, he sends scumbags and shitkickers to a hotter place, he splits before the cops show up and he has to watch them strain their brains through an ethical dilemma over cuffing him. He doesn't linger afterwards. No point to it.
Hanging around above three stories of wasted geeks, even if it's on the flat roof of a nondescript rural warehouse on a nice summer night, is absolutely not his style. Getting his dick sucked above the savagery that he's just enacted is so out of his scope of experience it almost - almost - makes him feel like a fumbling virgin.

Summary
