Sure...but it would be so embarrassing!! - she hides her face with her hands - But, maybe it would be better to let them assume it is a hickey, it would look like she and Loid are... intimate like that - she gulps hard - It would make their marriage look more realistic, that's all.
But...following this logic...she only has one mark. Wouldn't it be much more convincing if there were...many?
TD;LR: Loid and Yor creating the most over-the-top reasoning to conclude Yor needed to display hickeys, and Loid was there to provide them.
