“You want a fuck?” Edward hisses, pinning them to the dingy alley wall. “Then why the hell didn’t you come to me? I’m right here, Jim.”
As soon as he’s said it, it feels like a mistake. Playing his hand too early, showing all his cards. They’ll know how much he cares, now. How goddamn jealous he is.
But Jim just fists a hand in his shirt collar, knuckles pressing up high under his throat. Their voice rises into a shout. “Because you won’t fucking hurt me like I want you to!”
The admission makes them both stop. Edward isn’t expecting it, and he stares down at them. Jim glares back up, defiant, chest heaving.
“Jimbo.” Edward starts, then stops. Wets his lower lip, then tries again, voice softening. “If you want me to hurt you, then I’ll hurt you.” He raises a hand to their throat, fingertips stroking the soft skin over their pulse point. “Didn’t I choke you right, last time around?”

Summary
Izzy works gruelling hours at Ed's pub, exerting himself to keep the place together, and with no one to share the emotional load of that responsibility, Izzy works himself to a failing point.
Or he would have, if he hadn't've discovered the blog site that had brought him closer to the soft vulnerability he'd been ignoring for the past ten years, and his new friend, Keeley.
Ed's sudden infatuation with dating doesn't help, and when Izzy meets the shiny new tool that Ed has decided to let stick around, he instantly dislikes him. No, what he feels towards Stede Bonnet is nothing short of a hatred.

Stede hosts a play party at his house. He passes Izzy around like a party favor. Everyone comes, one person gets damaged (correctly) for being bad, and some Very Important words are said.
I ultimately couldn’t resist the lure of tagging every single pairing here because they all have sex, even though none of them last particularly long. This is part of a massively dead dove series but this stand-alone is actually fully SSC (minus that bit in chapter 3). If you want details as to how this particular stable SteddyHands came to be, why Stede is a doctor, why he has an "aftercare suite," or who Lucius is to these people (for example), read the fic with the same name as the series. But also, be warned because that dove is DEAD dead. Otherwise, enjoy this bit.

"How long were you with him?" they ask, readying more tissue.
"Twenty years and change."
The other omega whistles long and low. "Fuck," they say, "I was still figuring out how to spell my own name when you got together. And he just fuckin' flushed that? What a tosser."
"Stayed loyal to him when he wouldn't to me," says Izzy. "Stand by your alpha and all that rubbish. Wasn't fair to any of the other saps he took to bed, either," he continues, letting them blot his face, Izzy twisting his hands in his lap. "Leadin' them on like that, like they could have something real."
They sit down hard, a manic pixie dream puddle on the floor. "Choose your next words carefully," they say with a rueful smile. "You just spelled out my entire situation."

Izzy Hands hits the bar for the first time as a newly-single omega after splitting with his partner of twenty years.
