Summary
Centuries ago, it was somewhat common for misguided groups to offer virgin sacrifices to the gods, a practice despised by the gods, and punished accordingly to the severity of the crime. Thor and Loki were relieved when the practice ended and no more terrified young women were sent to them. Centuries after this practice became obsolete, Loki feels the summoning of a ritual to deliver a virgin once again. But this is no ordinary sacrifice, nor is the man who sent her a normal mortal. Something mysterious and powerful is at play. Loki and [Y/N], the girl sacrificed to him, must solve this puzzle, or else many more lives will be at stake.
This isn't a Loki/reader! Both Loki and [Y/N] are aromantic asexual. This is a platonic reader insert.

[Y/N] lives in a world where Loki defeated the Avengers in 2012. She joined the resistance and was later captured. She is treated surprisingly well for being a prisoner of war. When Loki's forces are attacked by another group with an unknown weapon, [Y/N] is caught in the crossfire. That's how she finally starts to learn why Loki captured her. Only the last bit is shown, but you kinda need context.

S.H.I.E.L.D. has great reason to believe that Loki is coming to attack in a submarine technologically superior to their own and a weapon that can't be matched. Only Phil Coulson thinks they don't know the whole story. Coulson believes that Loki could be defecting from Sanctuary, but he is alone. He sets off to find the truth, and to help Loki if he is defecting.
Based on the film The Hunt for Red October. I have not read the book the film is based on (yet), so I will not claim it is based on the book. Will also include platonic Infinoki (Loki x infinity stones).
