Something you’d never anticipate, concealed perfectly beneath the foamed surface, and slashing against your skin were you to leap from the waterfall and end up underneath the strong currents. It was difficult to avoid thinking about her, just as it was difficult to avoid those sharp rocks. And, in spite of how hard she tried to contain it all, the blood from her wounds always ascended to the surface of the water.

Seo Jin-sol, despite how phenomenal at predicting things she thought herself to be, had not anticipated that the Frontman was going to join the games; much less actively interact with the players. She didn’t know why he would ever choose to be around cattle, it didn’t make sense! Jin-sol was forced to engage with them on an almost daily basis, and just that was torture, so how could bossman stand to talk to them for hours? How could he stand to be around them for so long? It didn’t make sense, and that pissed her off.

Two years had passed since the tragic incident at La Guele de Saturne, and Rody’s life had pretty much gone back to normal. Once again living paycheck-to-paycheck, he—despite how much he wanted, and desperately needed to—could not afford to move out of his apartment and leave the city; to start over his life somewhere else. He’d managed to find a new job, still as a waiter (because what else was he good for, if not messing up orders and pissing off customers?), at a small restaurant called La Porte du Paradis. It was newly opened, having only been running for a couple of months at this point, and it was close to his apartment (at least closer than La Guele de Saturne ever had been). The pay was fine, but it couldn’t compare to what he earned at his previous job.Unaware that Vincent was still alive, he'd been living his life as normal as he possibly could. But when a certain someone moves in next door, Rody isn't so sure that he can act like everything's fine any longer.

It’s looking at Wyll and looking at the others and making sure they forget the fact that when they look back at him, they’re not exactly seeing a healthy, living high elf. He thinks sometimes it would’ve been better if he hasn’t yet admitted to being a vampire spawn. They wouldn’t be so wary of him. But even if it hadn’t bubbled out of him one day, like rat blood so acidic and rotten that even his starved body couldn’t keep it down, even then that truth would’ve had to come out early on. It’s too much a part of him that the people living alongside him wouldn’t have figured out soon enough. And he wouldn’t be here if they figured it out themselves, he thinks.
A vampire spawn and a monster hunter find that they care for each other. There are gaps to bridge.
