Toph takes a moment to consider that, and then the amount of time Zuko spent with her. Shaping that pendant and testing metals and techniques and the shared space of their bending when metal fills with heat enough for both of them to hold it.
Then she bursts out laughing.]

Sokka and Zuko are finally each ready with the best, most perfect, most amazing proposal that's ever been seen.
The Gaang thinks there just might be a few details they're both forgetting...

Summary
Sokka was never sent to guard Yue, he was too busy scouting ahead with some of the Northern Tribe warriors before the Siege. He was catch and capture being taking too Zhao's ship. He barely managed to escape with his life due Aang and a giant sea monster. Now he's stranded in the middle of the ocean with no one except Prince Zuko and his uncle for company.
Sokka should have died, if not from drowning then the burns he received from his time on Zhao's ship. But he survived. Why? Maybe the white streak appearing in his hair may have give him an answer.
Inspired by 'Will We Last the Night' by CSHfic, VSfic but with Moon Spirit Sokka AU

Summary

OR: After Zhao’s failed siege, Zuko and Iroh are captured. A few weeks later, Ozai receives a ransom from the Northern Water Tribe signed in Zuko’s blood. Unfortunately for the Firelord, Zuko’s safety is all Azula cares about.
OR: Unfortunately for Sokka, that means the Gaang has not one, but two unstable, broken fire siblings to deal with. Y’know. Once they break Zuko out of prison. Because this is not a situation that calls for torture (probably. HE'S still on the fence about it, screw Aang and Katara and their stupid morals and how much he agrees with them)

Summary
Something about the rich amber of his eyes, almost molten and in motion like lava beneath the Earth, makes them disarming to look at. Not to mention the softness there, like the lava has cooled somewhat, leaving gentleness in its wake - a quality absent from other members of the royal family.
It’s the side of Zuko that Sokka saw when he risked everything for the Avatar.

Soulmates share dreams. Katara’s soulmate is Fire Nation – which becomes much more problematic after their meeting in the reality.
Or: Katara befriends an enemy, Zuko has several life crises, Aang becomes a Zutara shipper, and Sokka develops a habit of adopting siblings. Azula just wants her family back.
