The older Alucard got, the more he realized he only had a few interests: skulking in his apartment, eavesdropping on his human neighbors to pass the time, and visiting his favorite bar for a good whiskey. Getting involved when a violent spree of ghouls were attacking the city, was not on the agenda.
At least the human he saved that night was pretty cute, and blondes do have the most fun, right?
A semi modern setting AU, Alucard never got strong armed into being a servant of the Hellsing Organization and is instead burned the hell out, and Seras gets to know Alucard before she gets turned.

Genos stares. For a very long time, because he’s standing in the street with one shoe on, fighting a half-naked man who’s threatening to eat his other shoe, and now there’s an actual naked bald man with one raised eyebrow like he can’t even tell Genos is on his way to short-circuiting. “Oh.”

“What are you writing?”

“Is it porn?” He skewers. He’s curious.
It’s nothing. In all honesty, it’s a grocery list. But they only have ten minutes left of this session. So he lies.
