“Respectfully, sir, you are not,” Jingyi says with a shake of his head and a deep inhale. He blinks and leans close to breathe in Qiren’s scent again.
“Lan Jingyi, you were raised better,” Qiren says, trying to take a step back and finding that the movement makes his head spin. For anyone, let alone an alpha, to scent someone so obviously without asking is well out of bounds of propriety.
“I didn’t realize you were an omega, sir,” Jingyi says after a moment.
