“Hey, isn’t that Tails?” the kit’s ears perked up at the mention of his name, his namesakes wagging the slightest. He was recognised. This rarely happened. And chaos was he excited as he watched the duo eyeing him with interest.
It felt nice. Maybe they were admiring him? If so, Tails would have a hard time fighting off his blush if he wasn’t flushed already. Alright, all he had to do was be calm and smile. Answer a few questions and send them off with a cheeky response? Or maybe they would want a photo with him? While he wasn’t known for being photogenic he wouldn’t say no to-
“Yeah! Quick, let’s catch up to him to ask about Sonic.”
Tails paused in his tracks, suddenly the smile from before falling into a flat line. Oh.. So that’s what they wanted him for.

While there however it is difficult to adjust when others think they know you already. When Tikal summons Sonic to Angel Island the hero would have never been able to imagine what would follow after. It is unbelievable to think that the guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles and the ultimate lifeform, Shadow are taken as hostages. As Eggman forces Sonic on a quest to retrieve an old artifact for him, entitled ”Chaos Pentagon”, the blue blur is to set after a journey with the aid of Rouge the Bat and E-123 Omega to find the three shards of the object in question.For them to succeed they will all need to be on the same wavelength. Are they however? And what seems to be the deal with Sonic’s communicator? Secrets are lurking around yet no one bats an eye. Will the trio actually manage to get along in the end to save their friends from the mad scientist?

Instead of the heroic cobalt hedgehog, someone else rises, when danger is near. Shadow sighs harshly. Something in his guts turns and twists. “You should not be so impatient that you’re willing to absorb whatever lethal power source you come across to blast through your problems.”
And he doesn’t want to pick up Sonic’s body in pieces from the floor, but Sonic’s waving a nonchalant hand before Shadow can voice his violent troubles.
“Worked well so far! I still have all my functioning limbs and everything.”
“Shame about the lack of functioning brain.”

Summary
The Space Colony ARK was supposed to create the Ultimate Lifeform. They made three prototypes, out of three different DNA stabilizers. And when the ARK was attacked, all three were sent to the planet below. GUN only found one. But once he was released, intent to avenge the family he lost, finding the other survivors may become the only way to save the planet.
Sonic, meanwhile, woke up confused, scared, and having missed fifty years of progress. He doesn't know why a man who looks like the Professor is destroying the planet, or why everyone is telling him that Shadow can't be trusted. Shadow would never hurt anyone... right? And if he did, would Sonic be powerful enough to stop him? Would he be able to bring himself to do it?
ARK Hedgehogs AU: Sonic, Shadow and Amy were born and raised on the Space Colony ARK. They find themselves on a war-torn planet, with a very powerful Robotnik, a very angry fox and echidna, and a desperation to find each other again.
