Summary
Eddie looks back and forth between Buck and the girl, staring skeptically at one another— like they’re looking in a funhouse mirror.
The girl opens her mouth to say something but shuts it, eyes widening. She gulps.
Oh god.
Oh god, Eddie thinks, as he watches Buck and this teenager form their differing features into the same expression.
“Uh, hi. Are you Evan Buckley?” she asks finally. She seems to know the answer, but Buck nods slowly. “Well, my name is Quinn Buckley.”
Any remaining sound in the room is sucked out, and they’re left in a vacuum. Everyone is frozen.
“I’m your daughter.”
Buck, Eddie, and Chris have almost found their status quo, when the arrival of a surprise daughter shakes things up.

Summary
Eddie raises a brow and squints at Buck. “What’s happening tonight?”
“Nothing!” Buck answers, too quickly and not nonchalantly enough.
It’s just curiosity, truly.
“Buck.”
“Eddie.”
“You’re seriously not going to tell me what you’re doing tonight?” Eddie asks again; incredulous, slightly indignant, and trying desperately to be neutral.Eddie and Chris are back from Texas, and Buck is being suspicious.

It’s a good thing. Being with Eddie is a good thing. Having a family, a home, a hand to hold. Someone who wants him.
Someone who needs him.
It’s good that when Buck was hit, Eddie was there for him. It’s good that in that moment, when it seemed like time was running out, Eddie told him how he felt.
And Buck survived. Like he’s survived every time, somehow. So now, Buck is alive, and he’s healing, and he’s with Eddie, and it’s good.
Eddie loves him. And it’s a good thing he told him.Eddie is added to the list of people who tell Buck they love him when he gets hurt.

Summary
If they weren’t on their way to an urgent call, Max would consider giving up the charade at ‘Judas.’ He would take Tristan against the wall in the middle of the hallway if he had to — anything to prove that he’s anything but a Judas. He’s capable of devotion — arguably prone to feeling it quickly. But this is a game, and Max isn’t stupid. He just met the guy, and it would be foolish to show his cards this early. His loyalty to Tristan will just have to take different shapes until it’s matched bar for bar.
Tristan is his end goal — and he’s going to savor every step of the journey. He’ll take his time, because the effort is what makes victory sweet.Dr. Max Bankman might have just met his match.

Summary
In English class, they did a poetry unit, and Chris had liked it more than he'd expected. Not all the poems, obviously, but he likes poetry in general, as it turns out. Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson and even Shakespeare, the rhythm of the sonnets, the language. He'd liked the unit so much he went to the library and got out a poetry anthology, so he could find other poems he'd like too.
He brought the book back to his grandparents' house and flipped through it in his room, stopping on any title that caught his eye, letting the words wash over him.
On page 78, he found, "Childhood is the Kingdom Where Nobody Dies," and he felt his heart stop.
It wasn't exactly that he wanted to read it. But he had to. He couldn't have stopped if he tried. And once he'd read it, he couldn't stop thinking about it. He went online and printed a copy, kept it hidden like contraband under his bed because he didn't want Abuela to find it when she was cleaning and ask about it.

Summary
So you've decided you want to write a fic of a silent film. (And didn't immediately choose to just write it like a normal fic about silent film characters.) Here's how I make intertitles!
