Summary
The first time it happened, Peem had run to his mother, scared and confused by the sudden onslaught of loneliness and fear that had swept over him out of nowhere. He had been young, and it had taken the better part of an hour (he found out years later) before his mother was able to calm him down.
That was the first time he had felt his soulmate’s emotional pain. It had returned throughout the years, a visceral reminder that his soulmate was lonely, or scared, or sad.
When he was six, and woke up depressingly lonely from a dream he hadn’t dreamt.
When he was nine, and he only just managed to run out of his classroom before bursting into tears.
When he was eleven, and was swept up in a wave of bitterness quickly followed by regret.
Peem began to hate those moments.
Why could he only feel his soulmate’s negative emotions? What good was it to know about his soulmate’s pain when he didn’t know who they were, and therefore couldn’t do anything to help?
His mother said it was his soulmate’s way of reaching out. People aren’t solitary creatures, after all, and that’s why soulmates reach out to each other somehow during harrowing moments.
Peem thought it was bullshit, honestly.

Summary
The thing is, Phum hadn’t meant to lie. He’d lied to his friends about Peem (a lie by omission, but still a lie) and he was quite done with it. But he’d been talking to Peem, sharing the broken pieces of his childhood, and he had gotten scared. Terrified, that this new, fragile thing with Peem would fracture, replaced with pity.

Prapai curses under his breath. He’s not sure how much more of this he can take. It’s like Sky is on a one track mission to completely unravel him with the least amount of effort possible. And the crazy part is he’s not even conscious of it. The word ‘Darling’ has the same impact as a tranquiliser to the brain. He can’t help but feel slightly light-headed. That could also be due in part to being aggressively kissed only moments before. Unfiltered, uninhibited Sky is a whole different threat to his life altogether. (You really have reached new depths of pathetic Pai, you honestly deserve an award).
