Shikamaru thought he had practically everything under control. Being so intelligent was both a blessing and a curse. Almost everything was predictable if one had the necessary knowledge and a prodigious mind like his. Ino was predictable, Chouji was predictable, his friends were predictable, even his mother and, to a lesser extent, his father were predictable.
In the silence of his room, he stared at the ceiling with boredom, wondering if he would ever find something or someone that could pull him out of his monotonous lethargy, just as his father had seen something special in his mother. Perhaps he would have to toss a coin into the stupid wishing well and pray like a fool for something to change in his life.
What Shikamaru ironically didn’t know was that his wish was about to come true sooner than expected. For better or worse...

ch 12 recap: harika finished her transfiguration mastery, on a trip with luna and newt and team, tina helping her with charms mastery, maybe potions later and healing, bought a trunk. harika buys a magical medium alternative ring and bracelet? from the alley in tokyo, luna advised her to visit all hidden places— Harry falls down a portal in a temple to elemental lands, gets the maps in land of sea, decides to avoid ninja villages and the capital, she saves shikamaru on a mission, his team dead, buys him a shogi set, he leaves after a week after confessing to her he likes his life but not how it was all planned for him, she refuses his offer to come to konoha, Naruto comes back to the village, suggests meeting up with friends, plans to do better than his father now he’s not depressed, confesses to him he’s in love, breaks up with temari, tells harika he’ll help her find a way back, she confesses she’d come back to him

ch 27 recap: Draco joins the unspeakables after the war, naina who’s family he once helped escape got caught by the ministry after her research on time travel was complete, Draco came back to 3rd year, yelled at his parents for their bigoted views, getting Ginny hurt and acting like Draco was a disappointment when it was them, told potter about Sirius’ alleged crime and his relationship to Harry before year started, Draco apologised to Ginny and hermione, had a falling out with slytherin, befriended theo, Harry called truce, Draco fed Sirius and they created a better map to track a magical signature over London, Harry hermione Draco catch peter after he escapes and manage to get Sirius a trial— only took Draco and Harry threatening the minister on two separate occasions, Draco had sneaked Sirius lupin’s wand just in case, trelawney gave another prophecy before this night— the cost of rewriting the past will be steep. malfoys not impressed with Draco’s involvement
