    “Ah maybe the age is catching up to me,” Tejo said, pocketing his lighter and walking over to the long hallway and listening for a second, pleased that he heard nothing.

     

    “Careful T, you get too old, they might kick you out, then I’ll get lonely,” she said a playfully mocking lilt to her tone. He smirked slightly as she glanced over at him, a smile on her face. Her hands had started to glow green, a sign that Tejo could recognize as her getting antsy, a trait that his boyfriend had had since they had first met. He paused at that thought, were they still together? Neither of them had officially broken up when Tejo dropped off the grid to join Valorant, but they hadn't explicitly said they would still be together.

    “I bet you can beat it though,” Liam said, ushering Kay/o over to the front of the machine, all the while he meekly protested. Seeing the excitement on Liam’s face though, he sighed and readied himself. With a leisurely swing the bag slammed against the machine roughly, the numbers almost immediately hitting the max. Liam was looking at him with a pleased expression on his face and Kay/o found himself struggling to figure out just what had him so happy. The machine began spitting out tickets and Liam gratefully collected them, folding them up and handing them to Kay/o.

    “You can keep them Liam,” he said, holding up a hand.
