“Which it isn’t,” Remus grits out. “How does time travel work in this situation? There are tons of variables to consider.”
“The how, my son, is actually the easy bit,” Lyall nods at the hourglass necklace Remus is still holding between his fingers. “First you find a dark place —a closet or a cupboard will do— and turn it over, just once. Then, you think of the moment you want to travel to, you close your eyes really tight and —bam, time travel,” Lyall finishes, doing a subdued version of jazz hands.
Remus gives his father a doubtful look. “That’s it?”
Lyall crosses his legs in a light manner, sipping at his tea. “Apart from looking like an idiot with a weird clock in some dark closet, yes Remus, that’s pretty much it.”
