    Summary

Tommy is a hero. His name is Avian, the protege of the great hero Dream, or Breakneck as he's known to the public. When he wakes up alone in a cell after a battle he braces himself for the worst, Dream had taught him all about the techniques that the villains known as SBI might use to get information out of him.

But he gets none of that, they're kind, they're sympathetic to his situation. Aside from Siren, he was a jerk. But the other two don't seem to want to hurt him like Dream had promised they would, like Dream had prepared him for. It was strange.

He keeps looking for a chance to escape, to run back to where he belonged. but they kept him locked up tightly.

But he had an advantage, he was immune to Siren's abilities, better yet they didn't realize. He could resist the orders they relied on to keep him there.

But as he searched for an opportunity, he felt himself feeling more at home in the villain's base than he ever had at his own home, in the hero tower.

And eventually, he finds that he doesn't want to leave, they've treated him better than Dream ever did. But he's conflicted. At least until he makes a mistake that should be his downfall, but instead, it shows him where he belongs.

    Summary

Somewhere, in another world much like our own, and yet so different, a man sleeps forever in a glass coffin.

Our world: Ranboo is a socially outcasted, bookish teenager whose parents have never and will never understand them. In their new house is a small door at the back of a closet that doesn't exist. Ranboo opens the door.

Another world: A shining coastal city thrums with industry, commerce, and is alight with the flames of the revolution born from its subterranean catacombs. Tubbo is a spy, unsure of where the rebellion is left after Tommy, a young witch, is kidnapped by the city's dictator, Dream. Meanwhile, the rebellion's leader, the infamous godling Wilbur Soot, does little but smoke and speak to the crows. The revolution is falling apart at the seams, and somewhere a god is laughing.

In our story: A boy falls from the sky, a deal is made, the wheel spins, a witch strikes a match, the veil grows thin, and death waits in the wings. Monsters and gods alike slouch toward the shining city, and nobody can quite tell which is which.

    Summary

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”

Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”

“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”

    “But?”

Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."

or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

    Summary

"Ranboo hummed a bit, trying to understand vaguely. He got the basic idea of it. The actions were social cues that he hadn't learned yet, and if he copied them, then he would get weird half-hugs and pats and help, too. He just wasn't too sure how to be nice, in an Overworld way.

“What if someone isn't used to being nice?” He asked Philza. Best to use his only resource while it was there. Philza shrugged again, rolling his shoulders back.

“Well, it's a matter of learning, isn't it?” He looked over to Ranboo knowingly, who tilted his chin up in defiance.

“What if I- they,” He corrected himself, “Don’t want to learn how to be nice? They just want- they want things to be like how it was at home and they don’t want to change for everyone else because home was easy and this- isn’t.”

Ranboo’s words had initially started as something stronger, something more solid and spiteful, but by the time he reached the end of them, there was just- hurt."

    or

ranboo, learning to be nice, and the struggles of a cultural barrier.

    Summary

Ranboo remembers the days when he would kneel at his bed to pray before the nuns turned out the lights and begged God that he’d be the next kid to go.

He was a good kid; he was helpful, he was kind, he was humble, he was everything the nuns raised him to be.

    But nobody ever wanted him.

    Not even his own parents.

(alternatively; ranboo's the oldest kid at a catholic orphanage. strange run-ins with mysterious people and strange abilities make him question everything he's ever known about the world and of himself. but maybe he'll get a new family out of it.)
