For a moment, Jesse’s smile is genuine, wide across his shadowy face. His joy is secondhand, doesn’t fit quite right.
“I know.” He doesn’t. His eyes light up anyway.
“And that means I -- I gotta go after them!”
The cold bites his cheeks. Jesse stays quiet for a beat too long.
Lukas knows what he’s thinking. He always does. Jesse can just make out his frown in the torchlight.
“They might need me, Jesse.”
Jesse wishes he’d kept his big mouth shut.

Summary
Lukas never liked the cold or getting wet, he used to get teased by the other Ocelot's for it saying it was 'stereotypical' of him.
He couldn't stand the cold because his face would turn red as the temperature burned at his skin. Getting wet was worse since it messed up his hair that he spends a perfectly normal amount of time on and he hates the way water makes his clothes stick to his skin, uncomfortably chafing it.
So when Lukas and his friends next portal to explore included both of these things, let's just say he wasn't exactly all that thrilled.
His bad luck on the other hand was overjoyed.AKA

He could find another way out of here- he would find another way out of here. He would exhaust every other possibility until he took a step inside that room again. He'd never have to go inside again.

Just after Thanksgiving break of 1987. Seniors, Jesse Anderson, Olivia Collins, Axel Crawford, and Petra Miller all get back into the groove of their final year of high school. They all have big dreams to chase and want to leave behind their socially suffocating small town of Beacon Peak, Oregon. The four friends were hoping to have an uneventful senior year, but unfortunately, fate had other plans.
An allusive serial killer starts terrorizing the town and the local authorities are having trouble catching the suspect, due to no major evidence or leads that could guide them. Jesse and his friends decide to take it upon themselves and help the authorities by doing their own research to see if there’s and clues or links to the killer. In doing so however, they put a massive target on their backs from unsavory individuals. They put theirs lives and the people around them at major risk of becoming the killer’s next victims.
