Summary
A series of shorter fics surrounding Lucy’s travels in the wastes, all stemming from a single four-letter word. Ratings will change from piece to piece. Individual pieces will have trigger warnings as needed. Tags and characters will be added as I add to this.
Plays decently fast and loose with canon. “Canon” for this series is a mix of New Vegas, 4, the show, and my own worldbuilding. Lucy’s relationship with Cooper will be denoted in how she refers to him, as this series is from her perspective.

One day Gordon is sitting on his bed and panting. His bedroom door is cracked open and he’s staring at the floor sadly, curly brown hair falling over his lightly wrinkled face. He’s crying, shoulders heaving with each little sob he lets out. It’s late and he’s trying to be quiet but it’s hard. His hand hurts. Or lack thereof. The pain shoots through his arm to a limb that isn’t even there anymore and it drives him crazy. He sobs louder, clenching his stub when he hears a voice behind him.
“Gordon?”
Gordon whips his head around, wiping the tears. “What? Benry why didn’t you fucking knock?” Gordon feels anger boil up almost immediately at the sight of the man.
“It hurts?” Benry asks almost gently. “Your hand? Or er- your..nub?” He slowly walks into the room, hands tugging at the hem of his shirt.
Gordon sighs and looks back down at his hand and stub. “Yes. It does.”
OR
Gordon experiences phantom pain in his non-existent limb.

“You reek’a fresh blood and livin’ meat,” He rumbles lowly, “Now, just what’d’ya think woke those boys out there, hm? Think, sweetheart- we was bein’ quiet, we kept down t’ the shadows, didn’t trigger no alarms. Now, we ghouls may be missin’ a few pieces o’ typical facial appendages, as it were, but our sense o’ smell is better than you would ever believe. How d’you think I found you by that little pond, hm? All covered in blood like you was, I could’a hunted you across the Mojave just by scent alone, an’ I weren’t even hungry. Gets stronger when we start gettin’ hungry, and those boys out there? They’re starvin’.”

Lucy and the Ghoul wake a nest of ferals while on the hunt for some ammo and end up hiding out in an elevator to keep from becoming their next meal. Lucky for Lucy, the Ghoul knows exactly how to get them both out of there alive.
