Luffy paused in his raiding of the kitchen when he saw the calendar on the fridge, the date and the event coming up. His Da's birthday was soon and Luffy began to think, a wide smirk pulling at his lips, a giggle bubbling in his throat as he dashed out the room and towards the girl’s room. He'd need to be sneaky for this plan to work and who better to help him than the best and sneakiest people on board?
“This better be good.” Nami growled low as she threw the door open, glaring up at her captain. “It's the middle of the night Luffy.”

Blue – because he was more Blue than Buggy here – swallowed thickly as the woman shakily placed the very small bundle in his arms, drawing his eyes down. He had expected a baby, not a toddler or was he older? Sickly like no D should be, he felt the pull of the tides in his blood, the roaring of the wind in his ears as he tore his eyes away from the child to the woman before him.
“I swear it.”

Buggy's life changes the moment a green-haired barmaid turns up at his base in Orange Town and swears him to deliver something precious to his brother, making him return to the place he swore never to return to.

Summary
Luffy is killed during the Gray Terminal incident. In response, Nika revives him and soon enough Zunesha is on their way to meet with their old friend, picking up both him and his two big brothers. Hence, unintentional kidnapping.
And they then dump three very traumatized and confused children on the Mink Tribe, leaving Duke Inuarashi and Master Nekomamushi to come together again and raise them. Meanwhile, the bandits and those of Dawn mourn the three boys, Garp resigns from the marines, Dragon is doubling his efforts, and Shanks is on a warpath.

Law keeps expecting a shovel talk. His own crew had given Luffy one against his wishes, and Law brought enough bad luck to their relationship that it rained on the day Luffy had somehow convinced him to get married. How has no one given him a shovel talk yet.
Six months after Luffy's been crowned the King of the Pirates, the two of them (plus their crews of course) sail to Windmill Village. Law stresses, because of course he does.
