Summary
Jason's plans are all coming together nicely — Black Mask is poised to release the Joker, Batman is more suspicious than ever, and Jason has the Replacement right in the sights of his scope — it's just a shame he shoots through Nightwing's grapple instead.
OR
AU where Red Hood hurts and then kidnaps Nightwing instead of Robin
OR OR
Nightwing's blue hovers in midair. Finger stripes scrabble for a backup grapple that simply isn't there, and then Dick is falling, falling, falling. Jason's grapple is in his hand, gun back in its hostler. He swings. Nightwing falls. Nightwing falls, and Jason catches him, the blood red gloves of Red Hood's ensemble stark against the black of a Bat's suit.

Summary
Damian had been many things in the eight years he had been alive. He had been a trainee - eager for knowledge and advancement, he had been a loyal son to the al Ghul lineage, and he had been a merciless assassin.
He had never been the son of a billionaire warrior.
He did not know what was expected of him when he arrived in Gotham city, not exactly, but he did know that his mother had given him all the tools needed to figure it out. He had his training, his knowledge, and the sword that hung heavily on his waist.
What else could he possibly require?
____________
Or, Damian is dropped off (cough, abandoned) by his mother and sent to live with the Batman to continue his training. He thought he had the perfect plan for proving himself worthy of being the one true Robin (defeating Tim Drake), that is, until Grayson forbids dueling and his father refuses to train him.

Summary
“You think pain gives you a free pass to burn everything down? You think being hurt means you get to hurt everyone else? You’re not the only person in this fucking cave who has suffered,” Dick continued, and his voice shook now covered in grief.
Jason’s breath hitched for half a second. Then it hardened. “You don’t know what the fuck I’ve been through.”
“No,” Dick said. “But I know what it did to us when you died. And I know what it did to him. So don’t stand there acting like you’re the only goddamn victim in this family.”
Bruce’s voice finally cut in—rough, full of something dangerous. “Don’t speak for me.”
Dick turned—slow, deliberate— a murderous look on his face now, as he stand in front of their father. Tim thought —not for the first time— that his big brother was the goddamn most brave person he knew.
OR: Bruce Wayne struggles to reach his fractured family. Haunted by past mistakes and the ghosts they all share, they face the difficult truth that sometimes the hardest battles are fought not against villains, but within themselves and each other. And, whether they like it or not, words are the most powerful weapon.
