Summary
Will kissed Mike while he was drunk, and Mike was processing it, bit by bit, while Will was unnecessarily apologizing.
…
“ Their eyes met and Will laughed, excited. “No, no, Mike —,” Will turned into the hold Mike had on him. He stood in front of Mike now, reaching out to touch his jaw. “Mike, you have a really nice mouth.”
Mike’s breath caught in his throat, his lungs screaming at him for air. He hadn’t drunk much, but his head swam as if the ground beneath him had shifted.
There were two voices inside his head. The first voice told him to lean in. The second, louder voice told him to run. Mike didn’t have a chance to listen to either of them though because Will started to kiss him.
The voices inside both screamed so loud that it morphed into an explosive white noise, leaving Mike with only instinct to rely on.
Although, as he stood under that street light, kissing William Byers after years of wanting it, of denying it, of fighting it, and resisting it, he felt it was more than an instinct but an unearthly force to kiss him back.
