Summary
“So, tell me about him.”
“TK,” he says. “He used to live in New York, that’s where he’s from. Now he lives in London. He’s training to be a paramedic, and he’s…”
“Is he hot?” Iris asks.
He lets out a breath. “Yeah, yeah, he is. But it’s more than that.”
“More?”
“It’s easy with him,” Carlos says, the words falling from his mouth before he can stop them. And now he’s started, he doesn’t want to stop. “I feel like he gets me like no one else. We could talk all the time, and I’d still find more things to talk to him about. It’s—”
“You sound smitten,” Iris interrupts.

Summary
One year ago, TK was reluctantly unpacking boxes in a room that couldn’t feel any less like his if it tried in a state he didn’t belong. He’d been depressed, filled with an anxiety he didn’t think he’d ever be able to shake, lonely as hell, and getting through the next hour felt impossible, let alone the next year.
Today, he’s bolting upright in the bed he shares more often than not with the love of his life, exclaiming, “Oh my god, babe. We have two classes together? And homeroom. And two free blocks.”
Yeah, life has a funny way of working itself out, but that doesn’t stop it from happening.
‘It’ being, well, for TK today, school.
—
Now solid in their relationship, TK and Carlos navigate senior year at Travis Heights High and all that brings. A sequel to written in the stars.

Summary
When they adopted Jonah, he promised he wouldn’t do this, work away. He promised, or he wanted to, and TK reminded him that promises in their line of work aren’t something they can make a habit of making. He wasn’t wrong. They don’t have the luxury of promises, of being certain that they’ll be home at a specific time, of knowing shifts won’t overrun or get dangerous. Except, the difference is, TK can promise that now, now that he’s a stay at home dad rather than a danger magnet paramedic. Carlos can’t.
And this mission is… It’s not the most dangerous he’s been on, but it’s out of town and isn’t entirely safe, and truthfully, Carlos would rather be at home.
Still, currently, he’s greeted with an empty hotel room and a bed neither made nor slept in by his husband, and he sighs again.

Summary
“Oh my god, baby,” TK murmurs as he wraps his arms around Carlos. He lets out a breath, briefly allowing his eyes to close despite the constant beeping reminding him of where they are. “I thought I’d never see you—”
“I know, TK,” Carlos cuts him off softly as a hand cradles the back of his head, so gentle and tender, a better reminder of who he’s with. “But we’re here.”
“We’re here,” TK manages to echo.
—
In the aftermath of the asteroid, TK and Carlos reunite, and TK has something to tell Carlos. A 5x12 coda.

Summary
“We won’t be able to do this for much longer,” Carlos says, cut off by a gasp as TK nips his jaw. He doesn’t hold back, kissing over it, then kissing along his husband’s neck as Carlos threads his fingers through his hair. He tugs, just a little, so TK looks up with wide eyes as Carlos lets out a series of quick breaths.
In response, TK touches where his mouth just was. As he does so, he pushes Carlos harder against the wall by their front door, if only to hear Carlos moan at the feeling, then TK digs his fingers into Carlos’ jaw. The pressure lasts no longer than a split second, letting go again and replacing it with a featherlight touch as he explores the skin of Carlos’ face like he hasn’t been staring at it all evening.
“Better make the most of it now,” he murmurs absentmindedly, but he cuts himself off with a low moan as he strokes along the roughness of Carlos’ stubble. “I’m fucking obsessed with this.”

in which TK appreciates his husband. Post 5x10.

Summary
“What’s this?” he asks. He’s still smiling, and Carlos almost can’t stop himself from kissing his boyfriend. He does, though, and TK carries on watching him as Carlos smiles back.
“I was cooking,” he says, and I thought of you, I’m always thinking of you. “I had some leftovers, so I brought you some.”
TK lights up at that. His smile gets impossibly brighter, and Carlos falls impossibly deeper, but here, at the firehouse, TK reaches out to fiddle with the strap of his bag. His eyes stay watching Carlos’ like he’s searching for something, and after a moment, he says, “You brought me dinner?”
“I brought you dinner.”

Summary
“Try this,” Paul had said when he asked. When he asked. Because all he’s been doing in the two months since he moved here is trying to curate a routine he can keep up with filled with support groups that are meant to help. Grief, AA, private therapy sessions. And maybe they’re right. Paul, his dad, his therapist. Maybe something other than support groups would help.
And with his options limited, the book club at the Reyes Café could be a good choice. Tea, coffee, sweet treats, LGBTQ+ books. Anyone welcome.
TK wonders if anyone includes grieving New Yorkers with addiction issues and a tendency to ruin everything he loves.
—
After losing his mom and moving states, TK finds comfort in a stranger who may need the comfort just as much. A story of loss, love, and learning to live again.

Summary
TK walks along the sidewalk in a hot Austin toward what is meant to be his ‘fresh start’. So far, he’s too hot, though he’s still wearing his favorite pink hoodie, and he already hates the sight of the massive building in front of him.
He wishes he could go back to New York.
As he gets closer, it gets busier, and though it seems expected—more teenagers heading towards the school on the first day back? Yeah, of course, that’s going to happen—TK hates it. Everyone is new and different, and he swears they’re all staring at him despite the fact this place has hundreds of students who would not be able to tell if he’s the new kid or not. It just feels like everyone is watching.
—
After a forced move to Travis Heights High, TK is left to navigate not only a new school but a new life in Austin.

“Twenty-nine days,” Carlos reminds him. The countdown is on now. Twenty-nine days, hardly any, really. “It won’t be long.”
