“To pay for all that hair product?” Mira guessed.
“I don’t know, there’s probably some tax evasion angle,” Zoey said.
“You think the demon boy-band has been sent by Gwi-ma to commit the grand crime of tax evasion?” Mira asked.
“I mean, I wouldn’t put it past them. Tax evasion is a demonic thing to do,” Zoey reasoned.
A tale in which Rumi accidentally makes her evil, scheming, no-good, demon boyfriend pop out of her sword (not in a sexy way), and now the girls have to deal with his shenanagins, finding out the truth about demons, repairing their friendship, re-building trust and potential tax evasion. A Zoey POV story.

Summary
Zoey’s voice snapped her vision into focus—she was kneeling astride the woman, practice sword aimed right at her while gripping Zoey’s sweatshirt in her fist. In a moment it clicked what had happened, and with a horrified gasp Rumi hurled her sword across the room while scrambling off, kneeling at Zoey’s side.
Or, Zoey and Rumi are sparring and things get out of hand.

Summary
Mira seems like the strong, stoic member of the HUNTR/X trio. She can look out for herself, she doesn’t need anyone to do it for her. That’s the way she likes it.
Zoey and Rumi however, don’t like it that way, and are determined to prove to Mira that sometimes it’s okay to need their help.
Or, Mira learning to accept that she can have and deserve her new family, taking care of her sisters, and even letting them take care of her.

“She went to her knees and begged me to kill her. And you ask me to just accept that? To not do everything I can to free her of this burden? How could you ask that of me, as her friend?” Celine huffs and stares out the window. “How could she even think that would fix anything?”
Calm washes over Mira. She finally finds her voice.
“Once again you are asking the wrong question.”
“Is that so?” Celine smirks. “Then what question should I be asking?” She sounds infuriatingly condescending but for the first time Mira can see through this mask that she is wearing like armor. Our faults and fears must never be seen, right? She wonders who told Celine that. Wonders when she started to believe it. When her sister died? When she held her niece for the first time and realized that her love wasn't strong enough to forget the hate?
“You should be asking yourself why she came to you to kill her and why even a small part of her thought you might actually do it.”

Celine wants to speak to her niece and doesn't really care whether Rumi is ready for that conversation. Mira does care about what Rumi wants.
