The quiet after that seems almost louder, but Kevin can't keep the tension up for long and it gradually drains from his shoulders as time passes slowly with nothing happening, sky steadily darkening until the only light remaining is from the lampposts lining the streets further away from the parking lot, until he's sure the other two can barely see a thing while his own vision stays sharp and clear.
