Rosa Diaz doesn’t really do children.
Sure, she’ll babysit her niece Diana and give some fighting tips and understanding looks to the kids around the city but she’s never really willingly spent time with kids.
Enter Mirabel Madrigal. The granddaughter of Senator Alma Madrigal. Daughter of the famous cardio surgeon/part time chef Julieta and famous author/journalist Agustín. Youngest sister to the youngest business woman to own one of the largest flower distributors in New York and a younger sister to an Olympic Weight lifter. And that’s not even talking about her tíos and primos.
With so many stars in the family, Mirabel often gets left to the wayside. When she meets Detective Rosa Diaz, she finds someone who sees all of her. It’s the start of Rosa Diaz being dragged kicking and screaming against her will into the family Madrigal as an honorary member. As if she needed more chaotic family members.

Instead of Mirabel reconciling with Abuela at the Caño Cristales and reigniting the miracle, Mirabel ran away with her Tío Bruno, made some friends, fell in love and then, had to rush back home to save her familia and home. She was semi successful and she died . . . sort of.
These are her time bending, magical filled adventures dealing with time travel, alternate universes and most frightening of all . . . battling her familia's generational trauma.
She really does not get paid enough for all this bullshit.
