Summary
It was supposed to be a one night thing. A fling. For old time's sake, nothing more.
They'd agreed on it, with George leaving for Florida in only a couple days, there wouldn't be anything else between them. They'd go back to being nothing more than a chapter in each other's stories; the words faded and lost to time itself.
Until, that is, a call comes through that changes George's life forever, and he's left learning to navigate this new realm with one hand reaching back to the past, and the other stretching forward to everything he yearns for. To the future he's built, the world he has longingly watched unfold across an ocean, and the man who unwittingly holds his battered heart in his hands.

Summary
It was out of love that George rejected Dream’s every advance, out of love that he ignored Dream’s every plea. And eventually Dream moved on: the messages stopped coming through, the anger became less palpable. Now, he probably doesn’t even remember how he once felt towards George.
In middle school Dream and George became fast friends, their friendship easy and free of complications. But then, soon after Dream entered high school, their parents got married. Nothing was ever easy again.
This fic picks up when a funeral brings them back together after years of near-estrangement.
