“So, KID, how’s it going?”, Officer Sasaki said conversationally. Kid looked up from where he was shortcutting the cables for the electricity of the building— Damnit, they should’ve had more guards than just him there— and without missing a beat replied—
“Very well, actually!”, KID said cheerfully as ever. “Though I’m unsure what you’re trying to achieve by asking about my progress with the electricity when you can see me doing it!”
“I didn’t mean the electricity.”, Sasaki clarified. “I meant like, in life! How’s sch—“ SHIT “— the job going?” KID froze for a second, so as a distraction Sasaki quickly tacked on : “Do you have a job? “If you’d killed him, it would mean something", Karma says. “You didn’t kill him, for whatever reason, and that still means something. Of course not everything means something else. I don’t know what it means, either.” He’s quiet for a moment. Then, “That’s up to you to figure out. You didn’t kill him. You’ll have to live with that. Same as you would if you had.”
“Would you think of me differently?” Nagisa asks. His voice sounds flat to his own ears. “If I had?”
“Would you?” Karma asks in turn.
Nagisa doesn’t respond.
Or, a study in smallness.

Nagisa knew what hugs were. But as he grew up, he came to realize that the hugs he experienced were different than those children his age received.
He wanted those other types of hugs.
And Nagisa lived with that aching, burning, itching desire for years, until it all came to a head after the moon was permanently carved into a crescent.
