Summary
Running up the steps of his home, Steve fumbled to get his keys out of his purse, only for his shaking hands to drop them to the ground in his panic.
Swooping down to grab them as quick as he could, Steve just manages to find his house key and turn it in the lock when a large, warm body is trapping him against the door. A large, calloused hand is clamped firmly over his mouth and a knife is balanced in front of his throat, resting against his pounding pulse point. Wood smoke and spice invade the omega’s nose, confirming just who is pressed against his back to his horror.
“Don’t scream, just open the door.” The voice behind him grumbles deep and low, threat evident. Steve can feel the vibrations of the alpha’s words along his back and buzz up to his brain, but he’s stuck, frozen in fear, heart racing out of control, he couldn’t even scream if he wanted to. “I said do it bitch.”

Summary
It starts with his scent.
Eddie likes to believe that, typically, he puts out crackling firewood and freshly ground cinnamon; something warm and comfortable. And, yeah, Steve usually assures that he does. That their scents blend perfectly—Steve’s being something akin to cedar wood smoked fresh with an undertone of herbals; as if he’s gearing to make a great, savory dinner for the two of them.
Though, in the middle of October, 1994, it all just…shifts. For one, they’re no longer in the dangers and thralls of Hawkins. Having moved into their own two bedroom apartment in Chicago. Things are different and new. And, suddenly, things with him are new, too.

Summary
For the last several days, nearly a week, everytime they see each other, Steve seems like he’s dancing around something. Always seems like he’s about to say what he wants to say, then changes his mind mid-sentence and says something else, and Eddie is over it. If it’s bad news, he'd rather just hear it than keep watching Steve mentally argue with himself till smoke comes out of his ears.
