Work Text:
Izuku Midoriya is a strange type of person, that much is obvious. He presents first and foremost an exuberant, slightly nervous, chivalrous, and nervous nature.
When you get to know him better however, you can find strengths you never knew existed.
And finally, with the new dorm system implemented, 1-A can see just how much of an analyst Midoriya Izuku is (except for Bakugou, but that’s understandable).
Walking in to the room, Tsuyu sat beside her friends on the couch in the living space.
“What are you doing *kero*?” Tsuyu questioned to Midoriya, who sat beside her.
“O-oh, I’m filling in my notebook number 14!! I actually finished the other one.. I wanted it to be a surprise, but y-you can see this page when I finish!!” Midoriya answered. He looked slightly nervous about it, but it was a big change from when he was a stuttering mess half the semester so that was good. “I’d personally like to see it, Midoriya.” Todoroki said calmly.
“O-okay! I just finished this page, here!” He said, handing it to Todoroki.
Todoroki looks up, his eyes wide. “What is it man?” Kirishima asks.
“What’s happening?” Jirou walks in shortly after hearing a commotion.
”Tch. It’s Deku’s stalker notebooks, he’s been writing shit about people in that notebook for years.”
With Bakugou’s arrival, the newly dubbed groups ‘Bakusquad’ and ‘Dekusquad’ were here, along with the odd mix of Tokoyami and Aoyama.
Todoroki answers ominously with “go get Aizawa-sensei” and Kirishima complies.
Aoyama looks up from Dark Shadows lap, who he’s been lounging on and apparently annoying the hell out of the sentient being, responded with a “Midoriya writes about us?” And a confirmation from Bakugou.
Mina whistles out loud, and Kaminari has a dumbfounded look on his face, as if anyone would ever write about 1-A (which considering the villain attacks, it should’ve been obvious).
A minute later, Aizawa-sensei is there, confused. “Why did you need me Todoroki?” He asks. Todoroki just says “hear this” and proceeds to read. (A/N I actually wrote this and these are my theories)
“ Journal Entry Number 11: Kyoka Jirou
Jirou’s quirk is called Earphone Jack, and it is from my understanding a particularly simple quirk in theory which is why I like it so much. The baseline is this: The jacks are connecting to skin seemingly loose from Kyoka Jirou’s ears, able to stretch out and create large sound waves using a support item. This is what I’ve added as for theories and questions. My first theory is that Kyoka could possibly use her quirk if her tongue was cut off, if she were to project her thoughts from her jacks into a baseless sound system able to multiply and add as she goes along seamlessly. This one is a bit far-fetched, but could possibly work. If Kyoka could project her thoughts, who is to say she can’t do others? She could connect with them using a quirk or simply tune into their thoughts by concentration. If she can do that, she could also theoretically do the same with her or others’ emotions using an incredibly detailed amount of understanding on her quirk, or just an idea of how to put this into action (though that would be a bit more open to failure). As for questions: does her quirk work with living objects? Could she possibly be preserving metal by having the ear jacks in her ears? What can she do to increase her hearing range? Would she have to do something similar to Iida’s quirk training, or more meditating? Are her other senses affected as well? When she uses her quirk, is it a mental or emitter type? This can be added onto later. And that’s that..” Todoroki finishes, getting up for water. The class, including Aizawa, was having an oh fuck moment.
Jirou’s eyes are wide as saucers as the Bakusquad (minus Baka-gou) and Uraraka go absolutely apeshit in awe as Aoyama and Tokoyami sit there nonplused.
“I-I think I need a minute..” is all Jirou says as she runs to her room, blasting loud music to most likely drown out her thoughts as the rest of the class cringe in sympathy for her dorm neighbors.
After a beat of silence when the music had stopped and the squads stopped dying, Aizawa finally asks, “Midoriya, did you write that? Can I see it please?”
”S-sure Aizawa-sensei! You can look at it!! I haven’t finished her sketch though, you’ll have to see it later.. and that analysis hasn’t had any fine tuning yet! I haven’t put in her psychoanalysis just yet, I was gonna get to it..” Midoriya perks up. “Oh! I actually have you in my journal number 10! It’s on the 6th page, I can get it for you if you want!” Midoriya says, happy that he could help out. “That would be great, thank you.” Shouta replies, not even hiding his affection. Midoriya doesn’t seem to notice.
Mina lets out a whisper of “Dadzawa.” and he looks over to give her a half-hearted glare before sighing. “This class..” he mutters, leaving with a notebook in hand.
================================
“And this is why we don’t give Midoriya a pen..” a tired Shouta says to his husband just a couple of hours after the moment, still reading his entry. And nobody comments when “Well hot damn” is all Hizashi can say because honestly, they were thinking the same thing about one Izuku Midoriya.
he was wayyyyy too good.
